Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Veranstaltungseckdaten
More than 40 per cent of Germany’s population suffer from a mental health disorder requiring treatment at least once in their lifetime. Although many of those affected live in our immediate surroundings, this subject still triggers a lot of uncertainties, prejudices, and fears. Consequently, preventive measures and destigmatization in this area have become ever more important.
This is where the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) programme comes in. The MHFA course for promoting mental health is based on the successful principles of first aid measures. The course is designed for training groups of 12 laypeople to become mental health first aiders in 12 hours.
It will improve your knowledge about mental health, reduce stigmatizing behaviour, boost your confidence and trust in your support skills, and strengthen your own mental health.
More information on Mental Health First Aid at the University of Jena is available here: https://www.uni-jena.de/mhfa
