(Re)Create. Towards a Theory of Heteronomous Texts
International Conference of the Research Training Group 2792 "Autonomy of Heteronomous Texts in Antiquity and the Middle Ages"
You are kindly invited to an interdisciplinary and international conference hosted by the Research Training Group (GRK 2792). The conference will focus on the strategies and intentions in heteronomous texts in Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Heteronomy is defined as intentional dependence of one text on others. The new text, whether it is a commentary or an excerpt, acknowledges the norm set by another text. Examining how this acknowledgement is expressed in the text provides new insights into its autonomous role and significance.
