>>> Upcoming and past Guest Lectures <<<
The Jena Alliance "Life in Focus" promotes postgraduate qualification by connecting and strengthening the well-established graduate programmes of the Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC), the Jena School of Molecular Medicine (JSMM), the Abbe School of Photonics (ASP) and the Max Planck School of Photonics (MPSP). The interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary elements of the graduate programmes are combined by the Jena Alliance and expanded to include innovative aspects of modern doctoral programmes.
As one part of these goals, it is our vision to establish the Jena Alliance Guest Lectures as a highly attractive, interdisciplinary, keynote lecture series.
Criteria for speakers and topics
We are looking for scientists with an outstanding international reputation who are able to provide an overview of a scientific field of immediate interest and societal relevance. The topic presented should address and attract the LIGHT-LIFE scientific community in Jena.
Organisation of the lectures
Lectures may be held either in hybrid/online format or on-site, depending on the availability of the speaker. It is planned that each lecture will attract at least 50 participants. The Jena Alliance office is responsible for the organisation of the lecture.
Call for proposals and available funds
The Jena Alliance invites proposals for keynote speakers who could be invited to give a Jena Alliance Guest Lecture in Jena. This call is open to all scientists, teaching staff and doctoral candidates of the Jena Alliance Graduate Schools (JSMC, JSMM, ASP, MPSP). The engagement and commitment of the guest and the inviting faculty will be generously supported by the Jena Alliance. In addition, the inviting research group may invite the keynote speaker to spend some time as a guest at their institute in Jena, which will also be remunerated by the Jena Alliance.
To propose a speaker, please send an email to maria.langhammer@uni-jena.de with the following information: name of the speaker, institution/position, field of research.
