  • First aid

Would you like to become a first aider at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena? Do you have a lot of public traffic or do you generally want to be prepared for an emergency in the workplace? You can find out whether additional first aiders are required in your subject) area|field from the Occupational Safety Office de. They will also make the decision|ruling|judgement as to whether the appropriate training can be tendered to you via the accident insurance fund (Unfallkasse).

The basic training for first aiders and the first aid training each last 9 teaching units (45 minutes each). The Unfallkasse bears the direct costs of the training and further training measures. Employees are entitled to continued payment of wages for working hours lost due to participation in a training course.

Registration for the basic first aid course and further training via the Friedrich Schiller University Qualifications PortalExternal link

    What is a first aider?

Anyone who has the necessary training can be appointed as a first aider, provided there are no personal reasons to the contrary. The tasks of the first aider correspond to the rescue chain, namely to initiate immediate measures, call for help and avert acute danger to life and health. The rescue from the accident site and medical care should be prepared. The psychological support of the victim plays a major role here. The first aider should be able to fulfil his/her tasks thoughtfully, well and correctly. This applies above all to his/her mental and physical resilience. He/she must be able to encourage the person concerned. Irrespective of acute operations, his/her tasks include checking the first aid equipment, signalling equipment and rescue equipment.

The number of first aiders that must be available is specified in the UVV "Grundsätze der Prävention" (DGUV regulation 1). In relation to the university situation, this results in 1 first aider in a facility|institution|(structural) unit with up to 20 insured persons present, 10% of employees if more than 20 insured persons are present and 5% in the administration.

  • 'Change of perspective'

    Temporary job exchange

Several universities have joined forces in the "Perspektivwechsel" project to familiarise themselves with the working methods and processes of the other university.

We would like to encourage all employees to change their perspective by swapping jobs with colleagues at our university or another German university. Regardless of whether you work in teaching and research, in technology or in the Central University Administration of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena
You can certainly benefit from such a change of perspective in all areas and gain new ideas for your own field of work.
