Account - Your access to IT services
The Uni-Account, also commonly referred to as "Login", gives you access to many IT services and systems at Friedrich Schiller University.
As a student or employee of the university, a university account is automatically created for you. This must then be activated personally (self-registration). Special accounts can be requested for guests, partners and external persons who are related to the university.
Once you have activated your account, you can manage your own university account, change your password and view your personal data in the user portalExternal link.

Activation of your Uni account: Self-registration
You will need an identification number and a PIN to register your university account. Students will receive information on this with their enrolment documents. Employees should contact the IT Service Centre. After you have acknowledged the URZ user regulations, a central user name (your login) will be generated for you, for which you must set a secure passwordExternal link.

Account for students
Have you successfully activated your account? Then you have access to many IT services for your studies.
Your account, also commonly referred to as "Login", is used, for example, for registration on FriedolinExternal link or MoodleExternal link. It authorises you to use the worldwide eduroam networkExternal link and provides you with a university email address in the form vorname.nachname@uni-jena.de.
The account for students is valid for the duration of your studies until your deregistration|removal from the register of students.

Account for employees
Have you successfully activated your account? Then many IT services are available to you for your business needs.
Whether for team collaboration, online meetings or centralised data storage - your account, also commonly referred to as "Login", is used, for example, for registration on the FSU cloud or ZoomExternal link. It authorises you to use various storage services or the worldwide eduroam networkExternal link. For your official communication, you will receive a university e-mail address in the form vorname.nachname@uni-jena.de with your account .
The account for employees is valid for the duration of your employment contract|contract of employment.

Account for guests and external users
Whether in the course of projects, for specialised committees or in day-to-day work, it is sometimes necessary to provide information and access to data or applications to partners outside the university. Special guest accounts allow partners to use various IT services for the duration of the co-operating activities.
The requirement for the granting of a guest account is the application at the URZ Service Desk including a confirmation [pdf, 365 kb]pdf, 397 kb · de by the head of a facility|institution|(structural) unit of the university.

Account for functional purposes
Would you like to bundle important information in a team, share tasks or share an e-mail address for work-related activities? The functional account is comparable to your personal account, but is not personalised and can be used by several people for certain activities (e.g. shared e-mail use in the Administrative Assistant, a project or a committee).
The use of a function-bound account is reserved for university employees only. Other members of the university may be provided with a functional account in exceptional cases for which reasons are given. The appointment of a person responsible for the account is mandatory. The person responsible may pass on the access data to other persons, but must know at all times who has the access data for the account.

Account for short-term use
