Ceremonial Matriculation

The University of Jena welcomes its new students in the winter semester 2024/25 with a ceremony in the Volkshaus Jena.

A warm welcome!
24 October 2024, from 2 pm in the Volkshaus Jena

We celebrate your entry into our university, the ‘Alma Mater Jenensis’, together with you. The Presidential Board welcomes all newly enrolled students at the University of Jena at a festive event in the Volkshaus Jena.

As every year, the University has declared the matriculation ceremony on 24 October to be Dies academicus. This means that there will be no classes from 2 pm to 4 pm. This applies not only to first-year students, but to all events during this period. This means that the event is not just a public holiday for the new students, but that all students and teaching staff at the university can take part in it.

Important note on ticket allocation – no more tickets available

Seating capacity in the Volkshaus is limited. Please note that access to the event is only possible with a valid ticket. All tickets have been issued to interested parties.
