It can also be helpful to look beyond your studies and think about your future plans. You can find reliable information about different occupations and the job market here:

How can online tests and assessments help?

There are lots of different self-assessments for you to gauge your skills and interests. Most of them are free and available online. The results might open your eyes to completely new opportunities and help you broaden your search for degree programmes. While the suggested degree programmes may help to confirm your decision, they could also encourage you to reflect on your own expectations and ideas. We usually recommend the following self-assessments:

This is a self-assessment that allows you to gauge your own interests and identify degree programmes that match your interests. It was created by the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and ZEIT ONLINE.

A step-by-step guide to finding the right degree programmeExternal link This is a self-discovery tool provided by the Federal Employment Agency.
Check-UExternal link This is a tool developed by the Federal Employment Agency. It allows you to explore different degree programmes and vocational training schemes.

This is a service provided by the federal state of Baden-Württemberg with various tests designed to gauge your skills and interests. Of course, the results can also be transferred to other federal states, e.g. through www.hochschulkompass.deExternal link.
