The panel of experts of the Academy for Teaching Development (ALe) decided on the awarding of this year's teaching prizes after a detailed review of the nomination documents and intensive discussion at its meeting on 14 June 2023.

A total of 25 nominations from seven faculties were received for the general award and the teaching award with the thematic focus on "Good Examination Practice". It was a difficult decision for the panel of experts, as all nominations are of excellent quality and represent examples of very good university teaching as well as the high level of commitment of the lecturers.

Two outstanding teaching concepts were ultimately selected for the 2023 teaching awards:    The prize for the best course design (€ 2,500) was awarded to Dr. Stephanie Viebranz und Dr. Marco Dederichs (Faculty of Medicine) for the seminar 'theoretical course supervision in prosthetics'.                                                                                                                                          The prize in the thematic focus 'good examiation practices' (2,500 €) is awarded to Dr. Silke Braselmann (Faculty of Arts) for the seminar 'Introduction to English subject didactics'.
