From 1 to 3 November, the Mental Health Awareness Days take place. During these three days, you will find various online offers (most of them in English) to inform and sensitise you on how to cope with demanding or stressful situations during your research. These offers include e.g. relaxation exercises in the mornings as well as a number of short workshops on topics such as resilience, concentration, positive psychology and mindfulness. In addition, there will be information on how to become (or address) a mental health first aider and you may participate in on-site workshops for an introduction to the method of peer counselling as a tool for mental relief.

In Jena a short workshop will be held on the topic of "Introduction to Peer Counselling as an Instrument for Mental Relief". The workshop will provide you with the necessary methodological knowledge to conduct a peer counselling session and you will be able to experience the method in practice using a case study. In addition, you will learn how peer counselling can contribute to the long-term maintenance of mental health. The workshop will be held in German and you can register for it hereExternal link.

The Mental Health Awareness Days are a joint initiative of Leipzig University, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, yDiv/iDiv and HIGRADE/UFZ. The event is open to interested doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of all participating institutions. Supervisors are welcome as well.
