Fast and short communication via individual and team chats has become an integral part of everyday university and work life. A chat service can be a useful addition to emails and the telephone, especially due to the wide range of possible applications.

Team chat (Matrix)
The Teamchat service enables the sending of text messages, emojis, stickers and files such as images and videos. Compared to Whatsapp, the Matrix platform used offers more security through encryption and allows you to use different clients for all your end devices. It is also possible to integrate partners who do not have a university account.

Chatting with the Uni Cloud
Are you already working together with your colleagues in the Uni Cloud? You can use the Uni Cloud Talk function to create chats and make video calls. The Uni Cloud is particularly suitable for internal university communication and smaller body|working group|study group|task forces (video conferences with a maximum of 10 people).

Department 4 at Friedrich Schiller University manages the central telephone system, mobile phones and security and data technology. It is available as a point of contact for fee collection and billing and is responsible for the 24-hour on-call service.
