Would you like to organise a clothes swap or a repair day for electrical appliances? Or even plan a sustainability week with lots of activities, workshops and lectures, but you don't know how to realise it?

The sustainable project cheques continue to enable all students and student initiatives to implement their own projects at the university. The Green Office would like to support you in this endeavour. You can apply as a group or as an individual.

All projects that promote sustainability at the university are welcome. The understanding of sustainability is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)External link. This means that not only projects that reduce CO2 emissions or promote biodiversity are encouraged, but also those that improve social coexistence at the university.

Conditions for participation

  • You are enrolled at the university
  • Send the application form below with details of the project and required funds by January 31st, 2025 to nachhaltigkeit@uni-jena.de
  • Exchange meeting and project presentation before the implementation of the project with the Green Office
  • After completion: submission of receipts and a short report of one to two A4 pages, which provides information on the course and long-term implementation of the project as well as a short presentation of the projects result in out Green Office Teammeeting

  • What is the sustainable project cheque?

    The sustainable project cheque enables students and student initiatives to implement their own projects at the university that promote sustainability. The university supports the project with up to €1,000.

  • What kind of projects are supported?

    The programme supports projects that promote sustainability at the university. This can include a wide range of projects that are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This includes not only projects that reduce CO2 emissions or promote biodiversity, but also those that improve social coexistence at the university.

  • Who can apply for the project cheques?

    Anyone who is enrolled at the university can apply.

  • How do I apply for a sustainable project cheque?

    To apply, you need to fill in the application form and send it to nachhaltigkeit@uni-jena.de. The form should include information about the project and the funds needed.

  • Until when can I apply for the project checks?

    The application deadline for the project cheques is January 31st, 2025.

  • Will I receive financial support as well as other support for the implementation of my project?

    Yes, the Green Office offers advisory support for the implementation of the projects. For example, the Green Office can put you in touch with the right contact persons or continue the project once it has been completed.

  • How can I work on a project if I do not have my own project idea?

    Feel free to contact the Green Office and we will take care of networking with projects that still need staff support.
