A: Fundamental questions of Sciences and Humanities

While doing a PhD or postdoc, research is your everyday work. You complete set tasks, collect and analyse data, write papers and get absorbed in your research topic. Still, every now and again you stumble across questions that touch the fundament on which we are standing: How relevant is my research? How reliable is my methological approach? Why are colleagues from other disciplines doing their research in such different ways, and how can we find a common language for working together?

In our workshops you will be meeting researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds to discuss fundamental questions of sciences and humanities: Good scientific practice, the role of scholars and scientists in society and issues of philosophy and sociology of science.
