On 28 October 2019, a career day for postdoctoral researchers takes place at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The event „Career Steps for Postdocs in industry and academia“ will offer information on how to plan an academic career, as much as it will show which opportunities exist outside of the academic world. In three parallel workshop sessions, postdocs will be informed on how they can apply for third party funding, on the various funding possibilities in- and outside of Germany as well as on how to apply for jobs in academia and industry.
The event is organized by Max Planck Society and Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. The event will be open for postdoctoral researchers of all Max Planck Institutes in Germany and for postdocs at FSU Jena. Up to 150 postdocs may participate. It will be held in English.
