The courses offered by the K1-Startup Service provide:

Entrepreneurship basics​

    Contents
    Students are introduced to basic entrepreneurial topics in a practical way, such as business concept, business plan, marketing, choice of legal form, financing and calculation, accounting and controlling, personnel and employment law as well as corporate taxation, trade law and contract management.

    The basics are taught in the winter semester. In the summer semester, these are applied to entrepreneurial decision-making situations in the start-up, growth and restructuring phases. The lectures are of interest to anyone preparing to set up their own business, to newly founded start-ups and to applicants for management positions in existing companies.

    Entrepreneurial skills are helpful in many professional situations: for utilization-oriented funding applications, for management tasks in business and even more so when setting up your own company.
     
    In practice, entrepreneurial skills go beyond pure business knowledge. Situational decisions based on business administration and legal knowledge are usually required. In this context, the course introduces the following topics in particular:

    • Entrepreneurial tasks and business concept
    • Marketing Financing and costing
    • Human resources and company pension schemes
    • Legal forms
    • Accounting and taxation

    Contents
    The course teaches essential skills for setting up a company, in particular the development of a business concept, the establishment of central company structures and the founding process depending on the legal form. The design of service relationships is taught for the operational business. Subsequently, the concrete business management implementation of investment and capital planning, expense and income planning as well as liquidity planning is taught conceptually as well as using a case study and evaluated from a business management perspective.

    Contents
    Once a company has been founded, its development is not a linear process but rather a situation-based management of change.

    Growth phases, restructuring, the transition from a group company to a corporate group, the purchase and sale of companies as well as company succession, liquidation and possible insolvency are complex processes. The lecture demonstrates the range of business and legal issues involved in selected decision-making situations in a practical way and provides approaches to interdisciplinary solutions.

    In the accompanying course to the lecture, some exercises are dealt with, while others include guest lectures by practitioners and entrepreneurial networking events.

  • Vorlesung Unternehmensplanung und Berichterstattung im Mittelstand

    Contents
    The management of medium-sized companies regularly consists of a small number of people who have to make decisions in all areas of the business. Generalists are therefore required who are able to consider the diverse effects of their decisions in advance during the planning stage. In this context, the new module teaches decision-oriented and practical skills for future managing directors and consultants of medium-sized companies. The main contents of the module are:

    • Planning and structuring the legal form and activities as well as the effects on reporting and taxation
    • Planning at entrepreneur or shareholder level and their inclusion in reporting, asset accruals, social security 
    • Planning in operational business, in particular service relationships, contract design, VAT, financial planning, early crisis detection
    • Reporting in operational business, in particular accounting under commercial law, tax profit determination, sustainability reporting and reporting to house banks 

    The lecture content is supplemented by contributions from speakers from the SME sector, field reports and optional case studies. The module is recommended for advanced Bachelor students in the higher semesters.

  • Fallstudienseminar Jahresabschlusserstellung und Unternehmensplanung (gemeinsam mit Prof. Hüfner)

    Contents
    This case study seminar provides a practical introduction to bookkeeping and preparing annual financial statements using professional software.

    Under guidance and using realistic balances and documents:

    • Create client and performance data
    • Check balances and import them into the program
    • Assign classification scheme and allocate accounts
    • Post vouchers and make annual financial statement postings and create annual financial statement evaluations
    • Optional: Create financial planning for a start-up case, including planned balance sheet, planned income statement and planned cash flow statement

  • Fallstudienseminar Unternehmensgründung

    Contents
    In the seminar, topics are dealt with for changing start-up ideas from real idea providers in order to solve entrepreneurial questions and problems. In particular, these relate to the definition of customer benefits and the development of the business concept, analyses of target groups and competition, recommendations for action on market positioning and marketing as well as essential resources and investments. The analyses and results are presented in writing and orally.

    Working on the start-up ideas requires a cooperative exchange with the idea providers and can take place in groups of a maximum of three students.

Berufsbezogene Veranstaltungen - eine Auswahl

  • Rechtlich-unternehmerische Grundlagen der ambulant-ärztlichen Tätigkeit (Modul 5 AoM)

    Self-employment as an outpatient doctor with an individual practice, in a professional practice association or the operation of a medical care center requires very specific entrepreneurial skills. Module 5 AoM therefore teaches medical and professional law, contract doctor law and licensing as a contract doctor and deals with other entrepreneurial topics in this context.

  • Berufsorientierte Unternehmensbesteuerung

    With a focus on medium-sized companies and medium-sized tax consultancy, the lecture deals with the basics of procedural law, legal form taxation, tax profit determination and the taxation of restructuring.
