The courses offered by the K1-Startup Service provide:

  • Practical knowledge about companies and entrepreneurial decisions
  • Practical experience from speakers from the business world and from business consulting professions
  • Entrepreneurial skills for future business leaders, company founders and decision-makers in the public sector with contact to the business community

Entrepreneurship basics​

  • Vorlesung Wirtschaftskompetenz

    Contents
    Basic entrepreneurial topics such as business concept, business plan, marketing, choice of legal form, financing and calculation, accounting and controlling, personnel and labor law as well as company taxation, trade law, contract management are introduced in a practice-oriented manner.

    The basics are taught in the winter semester. In the summer semester, these are applied to entrepreneurial decision-making situations in the startup, growth and restructuring phases. The lectures are useful for all those preparing their startup, for freshly founded startups and for applicants for management positions in existing companies.

    Open to all interested parties, no prior knowledge required
    Language: german language

    Credit

    • Mandatory course in materials science in combination with patent search
    • Expilizites ASQ in FMI and Faculty of Philosophy
    • Recognition as ASQ in other faculties
    • Occupational field qualifying module in Bachelor of Economic Sciences
    • Elective subject in Master Environmental and Geo-resource Management

    Entrepreneurial skills are helpful in many professional situations: for utilization-oriented funding applications, for management tasks in business and even more so when founding your own company.
     
    In practice, entrepreneurial skills go beyond pure business knowledge. Situational decisions based on business administration and legal knowledge are usually required. In this context, the course introduces the following topics in particular:

    • Entrepreneurial tasks and business concept

    • Human resources and company pension schemes
