Friedrich Schiller University Jena has received approval for the scholarship programme "EFIE – Empowering Females for Innovation and Entrepreneurship" as part of the EXIST Women funding programme of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The aim of the programme is to support women interested in starting a business in developing their entrepreneurial personality and their start-up idea. The programme is coordinated and implemented by the K1 Startup Service at the University of Jena.

The "EFIE" scholarship programme offers women who are interested in self-employment and starting a business the opportunity to expand their entrepreneurial skills and work on their own start-up idea. The programme is aimed at female university graduates, female academics, female students who have completed at least half of their studies, as well as women with a professional qualification and a connection to the University of Jena with creative ideas from all disciplines.

From February to October 2024, the scholarship holders will work intensively on their start-up concepts, develop their ideas and acquire in-depth start-up knowledge in workshops and coaching sessions. The K1 Startup service accompanies and supports the participants throughout the entire "EFIE" programme, from the initial idea to the founding of the company.

Women interested in starting a business have until 19 December to apply for one of the ten scholarships.
