A crowd of more than 70 people came to the Rosensäle for the first live finale of the "Three Minute Thesis" competition after the Corona pandemic. In this competition, doctoral candidates present their thesis in just three minutes on a single slide.

In the end, doctoral researcher Priya Reddy from the Matthias Schleiden Institute of Genetics, Bioinformatics and Molecular Botany won the jury prize with her presentation " Azelaic acid: A distress signal molecule". In her talk, she made a vivid comparison between communication within a plant and communication in a long-distance relationship. The jury prize is endowed with 100 euros. Jisna Jose of the Institute of Microbiology won this year's audience award with her presentation "Guardians of the Super Mutant".
