Another open bike repair day took place on 6 May from 12-5pm - and it was very popular. Throughout the afternoon, numerous bike enthusiasts gathered on the Ernst-Abbe-Platz campus and joined the queue to get help repairing their bikes. Students in particular, but also some employees, took advantage of the free service organised by the university's Green Office together with the ADFC Jena-SaaletalExternal link and the student council's cycling working groupExternal link.
Whether it was worn brake pads, flat tyres or defective lights: five bicycle professionals from the ADFC Jena-Saaletal workshop team were on hand to repair a total of 59 bikes. The ADFC also provided spare parts at cost price. And for all those who wanted to work on their bikes themselves, there were suitable tools - and of course lots of helpful tips.
The open bike repair day already took place last year. Due to the great response, a repeat event is definitely planned!
