Lecture: Technical standards and standardisation in the People's Republic of China and their impact on industry

Target group: Entrepreneurs, specialists and managers from various industries

About the speaker: Dr Susann Lüdtke has been researching technical standardisation, particularly in China, since 2013. Her research focuses on the challenges faced by industry in standardisation work and the risks arising from deviating technical standards.

In 2020, she published "The Secret of Lobbying in China" - the result of extensive field research in China. Her book shows that the industry is heavily involved in the development of energy efficiency standards for buildings. Other research interests include patent-based innovation strategies, business-government relations, green tech and sustainability in China and other countries.

Dr Lüdtke completed her PhD in economics at the Chair of China Business and Economics at the University of Würzburg in 2017. After working as a consultant in the automotive industry, Dr Lüdtke has been working as a consultant for patent analysis and patent management at a software company in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2018. As an associated researcher at the University of Würzburg, she conducts commissioned studies on technical standardisation, quality infrastructure and corporate strategies.
