After an initial pilot phase in 2021, the free open-source project for sustainable transport transition "Jenarad" is entering its second round. In the project initiated by Fabian Monheim on a voluntary basis, old, decommissioned bicycles are made roadworthy and fit for the road again - in cooperation with the ADFC Jena-SaaletalExternal link, among others - and made available for hire free of charge via a websiteExternal link. The project thus provides a sustainable and free mobility offer in the city area.
The Green Office has been supporting the project since summer 2024 by providing new signage to identify the bikes (see photo).
