Christina Werum-Wang worked as Vice Director and representative of the German side at the Chinese-German University of Applied Sciences (Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, CDHAW) from 2017 to 2019 and reports on her experiences in university administration in a long-term cooperation project at national level.

The CDHAW was founded in 2004 on the initiative of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF). It is regarded as a flagship project of Sino-German university cooperation and was highlighted in the BMBF's China strategy from 2015 as an example of Sino-German educational and scientific cooperation. At the CDHAW, key elements of German engineering education are integrated into the Chinese higher education system in close cooperation with industry.
