Cycling for democracy and climate justice

The initiative "Ohne Kerosin nach Berlin (OKNB)" is stopping off in Jena on 13 August and, together with the ADFC Jena-SaaletalExternal link, is organising a bicycle demo and a rally on the topic of democracy and climate justice. The reason for the action is the OKNB state election tour 2024, which will take activists through Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg by bike.

4 pm rally at the Holzmarkt, 6 pm bicycle demonstration

From 4 p.m., citizens can talk to the participants of the bicycle protest on the Holzmarkt about ways to a climate-friendly future. The campaign will conclude with a bicycle demonstration through the city centre from 6 pm.

One of the main topics in Jena will be the role of agriculture. It contributes to climate change, but is also directly affected by the consequences of climate change and ultimately has the potential to provide solutions. Open exchange formats and opportunities for participation invite lively ideas and constructive debates.

The aim of the campaigners is to discuss the local situation with residents at climate-relevant locations and initiate debates. OKNB organises high-profile campaigns and visits local initiatives and people in order to learn from them and support them.
