Have you ever fancied walking along the Great Wall of China or admiring the sunset against the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge?

Take the opportunity to study in unique locations around the world. The Friedrich Schiller University has a large number of global cooperation agreements to promote student mobility beyond Europe. Find inspiration on the following pages and begin your great adventure!

Advantages of studying at partner universities around the world

  • You will not have to pay any tuition fees at your host institution.
  • There are scholarships available, e.g. PROMOS, ERASMUS+ worldwide.
  • The International Office will provide you with organisational and academic support in preparation for your studies abroad.
  • Study and do research in a new country.
  • Learn a new language in your country of choice.
  • Experience internationality up close.
  • What are bilateral exchange programmes?

Bilateral exchange programmes allow students from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena to complete a stay abroad at a non-European partner university without having to pay tuition fees at the host institution. Some partnerships are subject-specific, while others are open to all areas of study. In any case, bilateral exchange programmes always ensure a high level of quality during your stay abroad.

If you apply for an exchange place at a partner university of your choice, this does not usually include an application for a scholarship programme. You can find more information on scholarships and financing options under Arranging your stay abroad.
