Thuringia has elected a new parliament. In the coming weeks, the elected members of parliament will come to an agreement on possible majorities for forming a government. The current members of parliament will remain in office until the new state parliament convenes. According to the Thuringian constitution, Minister President Ramelow is obliged to remain in office until a new Minister President has been elected.

Together with other universities, scientific institutions, companies, social organisations and civil society initiatives, Friedrich Schiller University Jena has campaigned for an open-minded ThuringiaExternal link in recent months and will continue to do so.
The Presidential Board will endeavour to ensure that all members of the University can study and work here free from fear and discrimination.

The University of Jena will remain a place where respectful and constructive dialogue is maintained. A community that is characterised by mutual support and appreciation and where all people are equally welcome.
