Philosophical traditions, history, society and economy

Without knowledge of history, a competent assessment of the present is not possible. In the first block of the China competence course, we look at ancient and modern Chinese history and philosophy and see how they are reflected in the social and economic realities of the present. We also offer an overview of today's social and economic processes, focussing on the respective dynamics and challenges. The aim of the course is to provide participants with a sound basis for assessing China's social and economic development without ignoring the conflicts and contradictions of this multifaceted country.
