The Friedrich Schiller University Jena supports researchers on their individual career path with various funding schemes: The funding includes the financing of scholarships and stays abroad, support in the acquisition of third-party funds, in the publication of scientific publications and the organisation of scientific conferences as well as in the development of an academic profile. Furthermore, the Friedrich Schiller University offers mentoring programmes in which STEM doctoral candidates or young female academics are personally accompanied by experienced mentors along their career path.
