Impulse Conferences (Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs)
The objective of this programme is to enhance the scientific interaction and increase the noticeability and scientific qualification of researchers at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The IMPULSEconferences provides funding for the participation in scientific events in which the applicant is a presenting author. Travel expenses of up to 1,000 Euro may be provided within a period of two years.

ProChance Exchange (Female Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs)
The objective of this programme line is to enhance the scientific interactions and increase the noticeability and scientific qualification of female scientists. The Friedrich Schiller University offers its female doctoral candidates and its female postdocs financial support for smaller research stays, publication costs and participation in workshops and summer schools. Expenses of up to € 1,000 may be provided within a period of two years.

Impulse Project (Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs)
Gaining own third-party funds is an important step for career development of young researchers. The success of a grant application strongly depends on preliminary scientific results. To support its postdocs the Friedrich Schiller University provides financial suppport for the preparation of grant applications. For early postdocs the financial support can be up to a total amount of 10,000 euros, for advanced postdocs it can be 20,000 euros. The amount can be used for academic employees, student assistants, and material and travel expenses.

ProChance Career (Female Postdocs)
The Friedrich Schiller University promotes its outstanding female researchers on their way to a professorship. The University provide funds which shall promote and improve the further development of the scientific profile and the chance to be appointed as professor. To promote the scientific independence is the main focus of this programme. Funds may be requested for: carrying out research projects, conducting conferences, mobility (e.g. research stay abroad), to prepare for third-party funding or for a research leave. You may apply to cover staff cost (e.g. teaching associates, student assistants) and material and travel expenses of up to € 40,000.

Organising academic events (Postdocs)
The programme aims to support the early independence of postdocs. Independent of their superiors or supervisors, postdocs can organise a guest lecture, workshop, network meeting or conference on topics of their choice. The financial support can be up to €1,500 per event.

Funding of Networking Events (Jena Alliance)
With its programme „Funding of Networking Events“, the Jena Alliance de encourages doctoral candidates to design and organise their own academic events with a financial support of up to EUR 1000 per event day. This funding offers the opportunity to broaden one's own research horizon to include interdisciplinary aspects, to establish valuable contacts and academic networks within the scientific community and to gain more experience in the organisation and execution of scientific events.
