International student groups coming to Jena
Information for guests
Do you want to visit the University of Jena as a group from abroad? We then kindly ask you or your home supervisor to follow these steps:
- Contact a faculty, specific institute or academic chair which you would like to visit.
- You should then plan the visit programme together with this unit.
- Contact the International Office for a supporting letter, including your detailled programme (including dates, times, places, contents) and the invitation of your academic Jena host.
- If you need a financial support for the visit, you may apply for funding at the German Academic Exchange ServiceExternal link (DAAD). You must be able to cover all costs.
- Apply for visa, organize your travel and accommodation.
- If you are interested in a guided city tour, please contact the Jena Tourist OfficeExternal link.
Information for host units
Are you planning a programme for an international group of students from abroad? On prior request, the International Office can give a presentation of the University’s study options (in German or in English). Please contact the International Office at least 1 month beforehand.
If you want to present the city of Jena to your guests, you can contact the local tourist office which offers city tours for a fee. Alternatively, you can offer a city tour on your own. Do not hesitate to contact the International Office to receive an information sheet.
