Welcome Event for Postdocs 2024

With this event, the Graduate Academy would like to welcome all postdoctoral researchers who have started their scientific work at the University of Jena this year.

The event will begin with an overview of the offers for postdocs by the University of Jena and an outline of possible important career steps during the postdoc phase. This will be followed by a presentation on the possibilities for financing the postdoc phase and acquiring third-party funding. After the input, there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The event will be held in English.

Programme: 

• 15 – 16 Uhr: Mastering your Postdoc Years at Jena University
  Dr. Michael Wutzler & Anne Dünger (Graduierten-Akademie)
  The postdoc phase is a challenging time. We take a look at the most important steps and strategies and show you how the Graduate Academy can support you on your (academic) career path. 
• 16 – 17 Uhr: Funding Opportunities for your Postdoc Years
  Madeleine Holzschuh (Servicezentrum Forschung und Transfer)
  Both for institutions as a whole and for individual researchers, the acquisition of third-party funding is becoming increasingly important. The event will provide an overview of the most important funding sources, especially programmes for postdocs (in the initial phase). General information on how to apply will also be given. In addition, the advisory services of the Service Centre for Research and Transfer will be presented. Afterwards, questions can be asked about the different formats.
