For this year's Long Night of Science on 22 November, the computer centre at the Carl-Zeiss-Straße 3 site once again invited visitors of all ages to take part in a very special programme. On the theme of "Into space with the MMZ", visitors could take a look at the technology on site at two stations and, above all, try it out.
- In the studio, we invited all guests to take a seat in our spaceship and experience a virtual flight through space with the help of our green screen technology. Passing various planets, the flight finally ended with a landing on the moon - where, of course, the obligatory chequered flag could also be pocketed.
- A spaceship was also waiting at the second station. Here, our teleprompter technology could be tried out. As an innovation this year, it was possible for the first time to display the texts to be lectured in both German and English and in easier language for our younger guests.
Video recordings were made at both stations, which were made available to all guests afterwards - a great opportunity to watch the final result again at home in peace and quiet or to present it to friends and family. The Long Night of Science at the MMZ - an experience to remember! Even though it was a long evening and the queue at the entrance hardly got any shorter, everyone involved had a lot of fun right to the end. The thanks of our guests and the shining eyes of the children showed that all the preparations were worth it.
With this in mind - see you next time!
