Topic: Competition from Chinese companies, Chinese overcapacities and their impact on German companies
On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, the first China Network Meeting of LEG Thüringen will take place. The event starts at 4.30 pm in the comcenter of LEG Thüringen (Mainzerhofstraße 10,99084 Erfurt).
The meeting will focus on “Competition from Chinese companies, Chinese overcapacity and its impact on German companies”. When discussing relations between Europe and China, terms such as “overcapacity”, “competition” and “punitive tariffs” are now almost standard vocabulary. But what exactly is behind these terms? Why does overcapacity keep arising in China? In which industries can we expect competition from China in the future? How innovative are Chinese companies really? How can companies prepare strategically and react appropriately? Dr. Julia Haes, founder and managing director of the China Institute for German Business (CIDW) in Tutzing, will give a presentation on this topic and be available for discussion and questions.
After, there will be time for exchange and networking and to welcome the Chinese Year of the Snake together.
