«China Controversy: How to Report on China?»

Markus Frenzel («China Leaks») and Wolfgang Hirn (chinahirn.de) hold diametrically opposed positions on reporting on and about China. On 27 January 2025, they participated in a panel discussion at the China Center (CCST) of TU Berlin. The discussion was moderated by business journalist and sinologist Finn Mayer-Kuckuk. It focused on questions such as how balanced the reporting on China is and what role personal experiences and sources play. Are positive developments overlooked while the focus is often on conflicts?

The event was organized by the Center for Cultural Studies on Science and Technology in China (CCST) at TU Berlin and China-Brücke.
