In the week from 5 to 9 May, everything revolves around environmentally conscious action and sustainable development: the University of Jena's Green Office cordially invites all students and staff to the 1st Sustainability Week. The programme includes five themed days with exciting workshops and hands-on activities on various aspects of sustainability. Each day will focus on a specific topic.
All events are free of charge. However, registration is required for some of them - which is now possible!
"With our campaign week, we want to show that the topic of sustainability is extremely diverse and encompasses much more than just climate and environmental protection, but actually plays a role in all areas of our everyday lives", says Pia Objartel, student assistant in the Green Office. "It is important to us that the moralising finger stays far away. Rather, we want to convey that sustainability can have a positive and profitable influence on one's own life", adds Claudia Hilbert, who currently heads the Green Office together with Laura Brock. The tenders are intended to provide inspiration for everyday (university) life and encourage people to take a fair and sustainable approach to themselves, their fellow human beings and their environment.
The Green Office is supported by various partners inside and outside the university for the Sustainability Week. These include the StuRa Jena Environmental Department, Greenpeace Jena, Hörsaalkino Jena e.V., ADFC Jena-Saaletal, the University Medical Services at Jena University Hospital, the Occupational Safety Office of Jena University, the City of Jena and the Federal Environment Agency (on request).
