Step 1 - Create print job
You can have your thesis printed and bound in the Printing Services department of the University of Jena. We have summarized the various options for you in a print order. It contains all the variants and materials you can choose from.

Step 2 - Fill in the order
Only a fully completed print job can be realized as quickly as possible.
The following information is required:
- Your name
- Contact details (please use your university e-mail address first!)
- Document type (printing in black/white, split in color or color and black/white pages)
- Processing (single or duplex printing)
- Material format (e.g. DIN A4 - 210*297mm)
- paper type (80g/qm, 90g/qm, 100g/qm or 120g/qm)
- Binding (Hard Bound, Soft Bound or Wire-o-Bound)

We recommend 90g/sqm paper. Extra smooth surface for needle-sharp full colour printouts. This product is CO₂ compensatedExternal link. This means that we haved calculated all unavoidable emissions required to create this product and offset them with the support of ClimatePartner.
We will provide you with a test print before the print run is completed. This is unbound and serves as a sample of your work to check the quality and type of material.
If you do not want a test print and problems occur with the printed product, a complaint is excluded.

Step 3 - Upload
Once you have completed the print job, upload it to the ServiceDesk and attach your printable file as well.
All communication takes place in the ServiceDesk.
Please note: Print jobs that are sent by e-mail cannot be processed!

Step 4 - Test print
After an initial check of the print data, we will create a test print for you. This must be approved by you. When we have your written approval we can complete your order and start binding.
The test prints represent an intermediate step for the proper creation of your prints. Only the customer / data creator can check and approve the print. The customer is responsible for the correct print data.
If you do not want a test print and problems occur with the printed product, a complaint is excluded.

Step 5 - Pick-up
After we completed your order, you will get a confirmation message.
Please pick up your order at the IT Service. This is located in the same corridor, in room 1209.
