Skill-specific courses
The Language Centre offers English courses that focus on particular skills. They are offered at different levels and sometimes for different subjects, so if you feel you have a 'weak spot' in your English, you might find a skill-specific course useful. There are also a number of 'All Skills' courses that will offer a general brush-up. The courses listed below are offered according to demand.

Reading
There are specific reading courses for students of Medicine, Political Science and the Natural Sciences.

We offer a course on academic writing in general or you can focus on your subject area: Medicine, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.

Speaking and listening
There are courses at different levels that focus on these essential communication skills or on conversation and discussion.
Students who lack confidence may also enjoy pronunciation and phonetics as a way to feel more secure when speaking.

Grammar
While not specifically a skill, it cannot be denied that grammar is a comforting and enjoyable subject for some students. We offer a few grammar refresher courses to help students who like to codify their learning.

Negotiation training: B2
This is a weekend workshop to improve your negotiation skills. The right kind of communication is fundamental to negotiations and communication in English is very different to that in German even if you have an excellent command of the language. Practise intensively to improve your skills.

Study skills: B2/ C1
This course offers an overview and practises the skills necessary for studying in an English-speaking environment.
