Profile of the University Computer Centre

The University Computer Centre is the first point of contact for all questions relating to the university's IT equipment.

The "CentralServer and Basic Services" area manages the provision of technical systems, while the "Networksand Infrastructure" area is responsible for the provision and function of the university's communication network (infrastructure and access de). The "Application and Information Systems" subject) areas|field ensure the distribution of software applications and services for all members of the University.

Furthermore, the "Securityof Information Technology Systems" and "Project, Organisation and Service Management" Offices affiliated to the University Computer Centre are important points of contact for all IT security issues and the first point of contact for project enquiries in the IT area or for establishing new IT services for the university. In these subject) areas|field, the University Computer Centre supports the University with its services in all research de, teaching de and administrative de tasks.

The Multimedia Centre (MMZ) of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Printing Services staff unit are affiliated to the University Computer Centre. They expand the range of activities of the University Computer Centre with a broad portfolio of services in the (subject) area|field of multimedia and print.

The University Computer Centre is also active as a training company in the promotion of young talent at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The Multimedia Centre offers training to become a media designer for image and sound, while the University Print Centre offers training to become a media designer for digital and print media.
