DIES LEGENDI – Teaching Day 2024

The DIES LEGENDI – Teaching Day is an outstanding event in the academic year that focuses on the importance of teaching as one of the core tasks of the University of Jena. As a festive setting for the presentation of the teaching awards and as a platform for inspiration, exchange and further development, the day provides decisive impetus for the high quality of teaching.

With the guiding theme “Let's communicate! Discourse culture in courses”, this year's DIES LEGENDI is dedicated to the current questions of what role a respectful discourse culture plays in courses and how mechanisms of public political discourse also have an impact on teaching spaces.
The thematic keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Tobias Rothmund and two subsequent parallel formats, a didactic methods workshop and an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges of discourse culture in teaching, will provide input for answering these questions.

For the duration of the event, this is dies academicus, so that all teaching staff and students can participate.
