Possibilities for relieving teachers with family responsibilities at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena under COVID-19 conditions: Herepdf, 60 kb · de you will find current information.

Information from the Presidential Board

Currently, teachers can usually still make use of emergency childcare if they can prove that they have no other childcare options. The Human Resources Department provides support here with a confirmation that the person teaches at FSU Jena. So far, only a few such confirmations have been requested.

Should emergency care become dependent on so-called system relevance again in the new year, Thuringia continues to divide into Group A and Group B, as far as we know:

  • Group A includes parents from the health care sector, care sector, manufacture med./care. Products, public safety and disaster control.
  • Pedagogical staff at universities are included in group B.

(Source: Information on Emergency Care in Schools, Group A and BExternal link of the Free State of Thuringia).

The President had already held talks with the Ministry in the spring and, as TLPK Chair, highlighted the relevance of university teachers inside, which led to the addition to Group B.

Child sickness benefit and leave of absence for parents

Parents are entitled to receive money from the statutory health insurance funds in the event of a child's illness. Due to the current emergency because of the Corona situation, this is now also possible for other reasons related to childcare at home (extension of school holidays, homeschooling, etc.).
