The University Computer Centre supports teaching at Friedrich Schiller University Jena by operating e-learning platforms, several computer pools and multimedia equipment for lecture halls and seminar rooms. The Multimedia Centre in particular is responsible for the production and distribution of audiovisual media. For example, lecture transmissions and recordings as well as the production of DVDs or similar data carriers are possible.
The University Computer Centre is also the central point of contact for the acquisition and provision of software products for teaching and studying and has a wide range of tenders. For example, literature management, calculation and office applications can be obtained. The University Computer Centre also provides a wide range of software applications for central courses (offered), such as the Language Centre. With its range of software, the University Computer Centre thus makes an important contribution to teaching operations. The University Computer Centre also supports the Thuringian University and State Library (ThULB) in the operation of its digital tenders.
