The Welcome Point of the International Office welcomes numerous international visiting researchers each year and supports them in the organizational preparation of their research stays and after their arrival. With our interview series „Gastwissenschaftler/innen im Gespräch“ we would like to give insights into their research work and their personal experiences during their stays in Jena.

Get to know

Dr. Sarah Walden is from Australia and has been living in Jena since 2022 where she is a visiting researcher at Friedrich Schiller University as part of the Jena Excellence Fellowship Programme.

In our new format, "Get to know", Sarah answered our questions so that we get to know her better.

"Jena hat für mich etwas unheimlich Leichtes, ich empfinde die Stadt als leicht, von der Stimmung her. Ich freue mich, dass die Stadt so übersichtlich ist, dass ich überhaupt kein Auto brauche, um mich zu bewegen, man kann alles ganz bequem abschreiten, da bleiben für mich eigentlich keine Wünsche offen."
