Why should you consider to apply for an internship

For many students, internships are often not only the first step into professional life, but an opportunity to combine theory and practice, to develop in a particular subject, and are even sometimes a guiding experience. The possibility to be recruited by the company after the end of your internship is not unimportant. Nevertheless, or precisely for this reason, you should select your internships carefully.

An internship gives you the opportunity to:

  • present yourself to a potential employer as a good employee
  • gain an insight into a specific company or field of work
  • develop yourself personally
  • firm up your career goals.

Sometimes you can also apply on a speculative basis, i.e. without an employer having offered a specific internship.

    Experience abroad is very much in demand from many employers, particularly in export-oriented companies and firms operating on global scale. Applicants whose CVs include periods abroad demonstrate courage, willingness to move, openness as well as intercultural and language skills. For these reasons, it is worthwhile to think outside of the box and opt for an internship abroad.
