The University of Jena is again announcing scholarships for female postdoctoral researchers. The programme aims to support very good female postdoctoral researchers in their scientific profile building, and to specifically advance or re-boost their university careers. All scholarships support female postdocs on their scientific career path by bridging transitional periods (for example, after the doctorate, between projects, or due to delays caused by the CoVid19 pandemic).

Female postdoctoral researchers who wish to continue or conduct research at Friedrich Schiller University for the first time can apply for one of five different types of scholarships: Start-up scholarships, re-entry scholarships, hold-up scholarships, completion scholarships, and sabbaticals. These scholarships may be granted for a duration of between 6 months and 2 years, depending on the type of scholarship. Successful applicants will be supported for their projects with a monthly stipend of €2,000 and family allowances, if applicable.

Funding is provided as part of the Thuringian Programme for the Promotion of Young Women Scientists and Artists (2021 - 2025) with funds from the Free State of Thuringia and the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena.
