The vote for the photo competition "Hats off!" 2021 is closed and the winning hats have been chosen! With a great participation of more than 700 votes the hat of Yiqiong Zhang was chosen as the most beautiful, inspiring and creative doctoral hat.
On her hat, her scientific research is represented by a laser aiming at a piece of coal. There is also a VW bus that goes off-road and a rhinoceros from which (in the eyes of the hat makers) bad-smelling medicine has been made. Second place went to René Benndorf's hat, and third place was shared by the hats of Marina Garcia Moreno and Annika Künne.
